Keep the Heat on Program – Heating for those in need
Every fall, AEI will donate a furnace and installation to a neighbor or family in need within the South Minneapolis Community. The selection process is based on family situation, income,  medical requirements if any, and overall need. If you know of a neighbor you think might qualify for this program, please send an email to info@AEIexpertise.com with a description of the situation and the reason why you think that this neighbor or family should be selected for our program. We will work in conjunction with local organizations, nonprofits and communities of faith to spread the word.

Grants Available: Up to $5,000 for residents with open citations on their property
The Longfellow Community Council is offering grants up to $5,000 for residents of Longfellow, Cooper, Howe and Hiawatha neighborhoods of Greater Longfellow who have received citations from the City of Minneapolis after a property inspection. The grants are offered to residents who are at or below 80% AMI (area median income). To find out if you qualify, contact the Center for Energy and Environment (CEE) at 612-335-5858 or go to the grant page on their website at https://www.mncee.org/services/financing/longfellow/.  After you access this page, click on the words “START APPLICATION PROCESS” to the far right of the page and fill out the requested information to see if you qualify.  This program is funded by the Longfellow Community Council and will be open until grant funds are expended.

Kent Burnside Kent Burnside is a grandson of the late, blues great RL Burnside. Kent has toured with Jimbo Mathus. Jimbo has a grammy with Buddy Guy. They played all over the United States including opening for Buddy Guy in California. Now Kent has his own 5 piece band – Kent Burnside and the New Generation. The members are: Kent Burnside-Vocals & Guitar, Ren Estrand-Vocals & Guitar, Dan Burnside-Bass, Tom Zick-Drums. They have toured through many states in the U.S. Kent writes most of the music that they play. They also play music from his grandfather, RL Burnside, and his uncle, Duwayne Burnside, along with many other great blues musicians. Epworth UMC offers indoor play space for kids 0 to 5 years old with large and small motor activities, crafts, and healthy snack provided. Kids must bring a caring adult with them to watch them as they play. Coffee and conversation for adults. All for free. Cabin Fever ends in mid-March.

Yoga w/Dallas at CANDO • 6:30pm
Thursday Yoga is back at CANDO weekly w/Dallas!! This accessible class is designed to help students discover their personal practice in a supportive space. Rather than expecting students to conform to arbitrary shapes, my goal is to create opportunities for students to feel more relaxed and confident in their bodies, regardless of experience or physical mobility. Expect a class with dynamic sequencing, some mindfulness practice, and messaging that celebrates who you already are. All are welcome.
