Your winter blues are certain to melt away with the sights and sounds of returning songbirds! Join local birding experts Dave Zumeta and Lee Pfannmuller to look for migrating and returning spring birds along the Mississippi River Gorge on Saturday, May 4, 7:00-10:00 am. Our river gorge is a premiere place for bird watching! We sometimes find over 50 species during our annual spring hike in the Mississippi Flyway. Over 170 species have been observed in this area, and the best time to see and hear them is May!

Novices and experienced birders all welcome. Bring your binoculars (or let us know you need to borrow a pair) and a water bottle. Wear sturdy shoes for hiking the river’s bluffs and banks.

This event is sponsored by the Longfellow Community Council’s Environment and River Gorge Committee.
