Now Accepting Applications for the Gardening for Wildlife Mentorship Program

Get matched with an experienced local Wildlife Gardener to learn about design and create your own wildlife friendly yard.

Mentors will share their expertise, and possibly even “extra” native plants from their own yard. An optional field trip, yard tour, and seed exchange event will take place over the summer and fall.

A required two night introduction class will be held on April 14th and 21st from 6:30-8:30pm, after which you will be matched with your mentor.

By the end of the year, you will be able to certify your yard as a Wildlife Habitat through the National Wildlife Federation (more info on our communities’ efforts at

There is a $75.00 participate fee for the program, however expenses for native plants and mulch may be reimbursed up to $350 through LCC’s Lawns to Legumes Demonstration Neighborhood Grant program.
