The SUN Collective (Southside United Neighborhoods) launched One South in 2022 to find a collaborative path forward to protect the vital work of neighborhood organizations for decades to come.  \nSUN secured dedicated funding from Target Corporation in 2023 to explore and expand the project. In May 2025\, participating neighborhood organizations organized “One South Connect: Imagining Sustainable Futures” at the Historic Coliseum Building. The event sought to engage community members in understanding the present-day challenges that affect neighborhood organizations and identify strategic opportunities and collaborative systems that may better serve neighborhood organizations in the long run. Over 60 community members participated\, including political stakeholders\, business owners\, and residents\, who shared important insights and ideas. \nOne South Connect: Building Sustainable Futures in October seeks to deepen the conversation that has already begun. Rather than a focus on imagining\, community members are asked to reflect on the steps that must be done to build the future in which neighborhood organizations are more sustainably resourced.  \nFREE FOOD & POWERFUL ENTERTAINMENT \nOne South Connect: Building Sustainable Futures will be catered by Caffrey’s Deli and Subs\, a beloved\, family-owned\, local deli that has served Minneapolis for over 20 years.
