Much of LCC’s work is done through our four volunteer committees. If you have a concern you would like the Longfellow Community Council to discuss, most likely you will be referred to the appropriate committee to get things started.

Tracks development projects and zoning issues in the neighborhood and advocates for the revitalization of commercial areas and local businesses.
Monitors and provides input for street and bike route projects and promotes the greening of the neighborhood through the use of native plants and greening in public places.
Works to protect and improve the ecology and water quality of Longfellow’s Mississippi River Gorge and increase community awareness of the ecological importance and recreational opportunities of the Gorge.
Builds strong intergenerational, multicultural, safe neighborhoods through community ownership.
