Examples of our Projects & Programs:
Longfellow365, a Community Photography Project
Since January 2014, photographers from Greater Longfellow have been capturing daily life in the neighborhood through the lens. The project generates a collection of photos that exposes the people and places that make Longfellow a unique place to live.
Photos are posted daily at longfellow365.com. Photo books & postcards are available for purchase at the LCC office, or contact Guthrie Byard at firstname.lastname@example.org. All questions about the project can also be directed to Guthrie.
Minnehaha Mosaics, a Community Arts Project
In 2017, LCC received a grant through the Metropolitan Regional Arts Council (MRAC) to work with Hennepin County to organize community art workshops featuring two Twin Cities mosaic artists. The conversations and input from the workshops helped inspire the artists’ design and creation of mosaic installations on 13 trashcans located in front of local businesses along Minnehaha Avenue. Finished pieces were installed in June & July, 2017.
