Explore the River Gorge through a new lens with an interactive and exploratory walk for kids and adults from 8:30 to 10am on July 22nd. We will meet at the parking lot on E. 35th St and W. River Parkway.
Adults will join a restorative nature walk with Certified Forest Therapy Guide, Nadya Trytan. Using the practice of Shinrin-Yoku (forest bathing) we will encounter the beauty and healing presence of nature in the river gorge.
In a separately guided nature experience, children will join environmental early childhood educator, Danielle Decock, on an outdoor adventure through Longfellow’s unique river ecosystem. Children will have the opportunity for hands-on experiences such as investigating plants and animals, exploring with scientific tools, and connecting deeper to their local neighborhood.
Children and grown-ups will join together for the last portion of the program to create an earth-based art project: seed balls! (This portion is ADA friendly).
The children’s walk is designed for children ages 3 to 6, although older kids are welcome to participate. Teenagers and older children can join the adults for forest bathing. In case of inclement weather: We will continue in the rain if it is safe to do so. If the weather is unsafe, we will cancel/reschedule for another date.
Spots are limited so registration is required. Sign up! Email with any questions.
