Longfellow Garden Club presents: All About Seed Saving: Glorious, colorful, wonderful seeds!

September 14, 2022 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Join Vanessa Van Alstine of the Longfellow Garden Club as she explains and demonstrates how to collect seeds from different vegetables and flowers, how to prepare them for storage, how to store them, and how to wake them up next season.

She will show us different types of seeds and demonstrate each phase of the process including use of the seed cleaning equipment.  She will also give away some seeds and a few supplies for seed saving.  Vanessa is an enthusiastic home gardener who has been growing vegetables, herbs, berries, and flowers in the Longfellow neighborhood since 1998.  She has trained at the Seed School at Seed Savers Exchange in Decorah, Iowa, and taken multiple classes with the Rocky Mountain Seed Alliance.

Please come on time, we will lock the doors at 7:15.

All meetings are free and open to anyone.  Come join us!
