Chard Your Yard Minneapolis Invites Community to B Chard Your Yard Minneapolis Invites Community to Build and Install Raised Garden Beds This April and May

Minneapolis, MN – Chard Your Yard Minneapolis is calling on neighbors, volunteers, and gardening enthusiasts to roll up their sleeves this spring for a series of Build Nights and Install Days designed to expand access to fresh, homegrown food across the Cooper, Corcoran, Ericcson, Hiawatha, Howe, Longfellow. Seward, and Standish neighborhoods.
Chard Your Yard is a volunteer initiative dedicated to building and installing raised garden beds to empower the local community to grow some of their own food. Through hands-on events, the organization brings neighbors together to construct high-quality raised-bed gardens and install them directly in local yards; cultivating not only vegetables, but also connection.

Rethinking I-94 Project: Last Chance for Public Co Rethinking I-94 Project: Last Chance for Public Comment

Public comment period ends on March 23rd for the redevelopment of I-94. The state is deciding how to fix or change the stretch of I-94 between Minneapolis and St. Paul. This isn't just about filling potholes; they are deciding whether to keep the highway as it is, expand it, or transform it into something completely different (like a street-level boulevard).

If you live in or travel through the Greater Longfellow area or nearby neighborhoods, this project will affect traffic (primarily on Lake Street), air quality, noise levels and connection to St. Paul.

Find the links in bio to learn more about the project, the Our Streets initiative, or to fill out the form.
On Friday, community members and neighbors met wit On Friday, community members and neighbors met with Minneapolis Parks (MPRB) to talk about pruning and caring for the Adams Triangle Orchard. MPRB will be conducting a heavy pruning later this week to help keep the trees healthy and thriving.
Stay tuned for a mulching party happening later this spring—more details to come.
For more information about the orchard, check out the link in our bio.
Questions can be directed to Danielle Schumerth at MPRB: DSchumerth@minneapolisparks.org
