On Tuesday, May 16, 2023 a coalition of neighborhood groups, businesses, and community organizations stood together in City Hall rejecting any decision made through the City’s rushed process of false choices for a future 3rd precinct building.
The LCC Board of Directors passed a resolution demanding a new timeline from the City to develop an intentional and respectful community-led engagement process with a focus on restorative justice defining a shared community vision for a new facility or facilities, and how the former site of the 3rd precinct should serve the community.
That resolution already has the support of 12 other neighborhood organizations that represent 19 of the neighborhoods within the 3rd precinct. The resolution is also supported by 17 additional businesses and community organizations.
